Branding yourself, choosing the right template is very important. I started out with a probably trendy design that appealed to my artistic sense. I liked the look of it. I then started reading gurus blogs, listened to what they were saying and decided the design was a bit clunky.
One of my reasons for suggesting you get what you want clear initially is that every time you change templates although you keep all your posts you have to reinstall all your plugins. So I have had a week with fairly bare side panels.
I am pleased with the design I have chosen and this time, I purchased a template and the support is great. I know i referred to this in another post titled getting distracted gets a new design.’
What I wasn’t aware of was the time involved in changing the word press template. You get to keep all your posts, but you have to reinstall all your templates and activate them. Would be great if you could merge one template design and the plugins you has set up previously.
So what I am suggesting is that when you are setting up you wordpress.org blog, and I would recommend that if you want to be seen as being professional and serious in business you choose wordpress.org over blogger or even wordpress.com- if you don’t know why , just Google it and you will find out why. Now after a week I have also reinstalled all my old plugins plus those suggested by the masters.
Very interesting post!
Thanks a lot for mentioning….
