Abundance Thinking:Once More With Feeling.

Posted by Suzie Cheel | June 19, 2007 .

What is abundance?

There are many definitions and the word can be used in many ways.

The wiktionary: defines abundance as: noun

An overflowing fullness; ample sufficiency; great plenty; profusion; copious superfluity; wealth: A lack of scarcity.

And from one of my favorite references Roget’s Thesaurus the words:

SYNONYMS:” Affluence. Ampleness, bounty, copiousness, fortune, opulence, plentitude, plenty, profusion, prosperity, prosperousness, riches, wealth.”

ANTONYMS: dearth, scarcity, scarceness, paucity.

The words themselves conjure for me a variety of different images and feelings: images of the sea, the waves rolling in, white sand that stretches for miles, a wad of hundred dollar notes, a pile of gold coins, feelings of happiness and joy, full of vitality , energetic, expansive, a knowing I can do anything, there are no barriers. A total absence of scarcity.

I have just completed 30 days of the abundance activity, suggested in The One Minute Millionaire that I wrote about last month. This came from the 4th AHA in the book: Abundance is Your Birthright and the suggestion was that I repeat this morning and night. The secret is to say it with feeling, believing abundance is in your life right now. Well as I reflect back on the past 30 days, I think I have skimmed a little on the feeling. So I will start again tomorrow with feeling.

“I am abundant in every good way. Infinite money is mine to earn, save, invest, exponentially multiply, and share. My abundance is making everyone better off. I embrace abundance and abundance embraces me.”

When I started out I was writing this in a journal each day. Last week I changed to index cards I have one for the morning and one for the evening and mark off the days:

I will report back on my progress and would love to hear from other abundance seekers stories.

Hi Suzie, firstly thanks for visiting my lens.

Now the important bit. This is a really good post. I hope other readers do more than just skim read and get into the real message here.

There is abundance everywhere and a vital point to remember is that by having an abundance (of say money , happiness, health - whatever) YOU ARE NOT depriving someone else of that money, happiness or health. There is enough to go round, I promise.

Follow Suzie’s lead and attract abundance into your life.

wow, that was a really powerful post. i also believe that anything is achievable and that you’re only limited by your own unwillingness to seek greatness. i’m almost done reading the 7 habits of highly effective people, and i don’t care if people think these types of motivational writings are “good” or “bad.” they help motivate you to grow and better yourself, which is all that matters. other people’s judgments are just their limitations imposed on someone else. great post :)

Thanks Michelle,

I have also read 7 Habits, and like you comment about other peoples judgements, sometimes hard to always ignore.

Hi Suzie,

You touched on several key points which I feel really make a huge difference in achieving what we desire. We have to truly believe we are worthy and capable of getting or having things that are for our highest good, including infinite abundance.

And as you so clearly demonstrate by your thoughtful comments, we have to take daily, focused and consistent action to achieve the things we want to accomplish in life.

“More to all, less to none.”

Hi Tracey,

Great comment, It’s that daily focussed consistent action that is so important

Problem with abundance is, there is a scarcity of it in abundance. However there is more than enough love to go round. What we really desire is what we have been told over many centuries. What we really need is new thought and vision and an “abundance” of people with the ability to make the changes that are necessary before its too bloody late. Keep writing.

Hi Ray,

I have just dropped by you site, love the title, I can see we may have several common thoughts on how world views.
Yes new thought would be wonderful along with people accepting that they can change and what an abundant place it would be

Continuing along the abundance route, it dawned on me that while all these wags are busy chasing money the things that really make the world go round-art and literature are sadly in decline.
There isn’t a hope in hell of there being any visionairies while we have everyone attempting to cash in on internet business-if one can now call it business. 90% of those “writing” have no larger a vocabulary than “awsome” and are usually wrapped up in scriptures of Donald Trump and his ilk.
On a more personnal note I would love to see an abundance of interesting writers with some form of originality and humour- still while they are scarce I guess it makes my job easier.
Thanks for your remarks by the way.
